Tenant Community

Thoreau Center concept together a primarily not-for-profit community of organizations and individuals committed to working for a healthy environment and a just society. To enhance the work of its organizational tenants the Thoreau Center not only provides a physical work space but also supports the community through facilitating a regular program of educational events, communication tools, social gatherings, and informational exhibits.

These programs seek to explicitly acknowledge each tenant's commitment to being a member of a community not just an occupant of a building. It recognizes that together, both the net contribution to society and each tenant's individual organizational endeavors are greater than what might be achieved alone.
